Company History
Daniel and Judith Lundin moved to the Adirondacks in the early 1970s from Connecticut where Daniel took a position as Laboratory Supervisor at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center in Lake Placid, NY, coordinating the renown educational and cell and tissue culture programs.
Daniel was presented with an opportunity and knew the science behind mycoplasmology would be relevant for the quality control of biopharmaceuticals. He established Bionique as a leading testing organization and served as President until 2017. Daniel’s daughter, Jill Mariano MD, is actively serving as Bionique’s Chief Scientific Officer helping guide the strategic direction of the company while working together with Gladis Zamparo, CEO, as the company continues to grow and expand its footprint.
Bionique has strong ties to the community in which it resides. Embedded in its core values, Bionique promotes sustainability within the Adirondack Park and supports the community in numerous ways such as sponsoring local cleanup efforts, having a corporate matching program for employees donating their time or funds to local nonprofits, and providing local scholarships for high school students pursuing life science majors in college.
