Elevian is a well-funded early stage biotechnology company developing transformative therapeutics to address diseases of aging. Elevian’s founders, Drs. Richard T. Lee, Amy J. Wagers and Lee Rubin, in the Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB) have identified specific circulation blood factors that promote therapeutic benefits in tissues that have been damaged by aging and degeneration. Mouse model studies involving supplementation of GDF11, a TGF-beta ligand, have demonstrated improvements in age related cardiac hypertrophy, youthful skeletal muscle repair, neurogenesis and cognitive function, and Type II Diabetes.
