What You’ll Do:
Be the go-to person for our clients when it comes to their data needs—whether that's helping community health centers get their data architecture in shape or supporting biotech startups as they build out data systems.
Build and maintain data pipelines in Python, keeping everything well-organized, documented and tested.
Set up and manage SQL transformations using dbt to get the data ready for analysis.
Partner with clients to really understand what they need from their data and ensure our technical approach aligns with their goals. Work directly with business users to make sure they have the data they need to answer critical questions.
Design data architectures that are scalable, reliable, and meet our clients’ specific needs—whether it’s for clinical research or day-to-day operations.
Keep data quality top of mind by implementing validation, testing, and monitoring best practices.
Stay current on data engineering trends and tools to make sure we’re always using the best possible approaches.
Mentor junior data engineers on best practices in data engineering. Execute code reviews and provide guidance and advice on how to approach projects. Contribute to a culture of learning and improvement.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Typically 5+ years of experience in data roles, including specific experience building data pipelines in Python and managing SQL transformations using dbt.
Experience working with cloud data platforms, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
Comfort working with business intelligence tools and supporting users in their data and analytics needs.
Great communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients to understand their needs.
Experience in the healthcare space, especially working with community health centers or in biotech, is a big plus.
A passion for using technology to make a difference, with a commitment to delivering quality solutions.
